As Pastor Arlene wrote about in her article in the May Messenger, the Blessed Connections is a ministry under the Membership and Evangelism Commission which was invited to make a five-minute presentation in Church on Sunday April 20th telling folks what we are about and why this ministry is important.
She also explained it is impossible to tell about all of it in five minutes. So, a particular facet of Blessed Connections will be featured each month to familiarize everyone with what we do.
This month the Blessed Connection feature is Meals. Once or twice a year a group of people get together at the Church on a Saturday afternoon for fun, fellowship and some good home cooking. Any one is welcome to participate with the cooking. Most of the ingredients are donated by Church members. About fifty meals are made at a time. Usually a beef dish, a chicken dish and a pasta dish. Sometimes the extra meals from events such as Monday Night Lights or our Election Day Dinner are frozen and kept. The meals are stored in the Church freezer for any Church member who may need a meal because of medical reasons such as just not feeling well, spent a day at the doctors for tests, have recently come home from a hospital stay, etc. or could just use a meal for any reason.
When delivering meals, Barbara Fritz has witnessed how blessed the recipients have been by this ministry. If you would like to be a part of this ministry or if you are in need of a meal please contact Barbara, or Pastor Arlene.
