Crop Walk

Crop Walk

We participate with the local crop walk in October. We are currently looking for an "HPUMC Coordinator".

Many other ways you can volunteer:

  • Highway clean-up

  • Souper Bowl of Caring
  • Coat drive
  • Hams for Easter
  • Thanksgiving Dinners
  • Operation Christmas (Shoe Box)
  • Christmas adopt-a-family (Community Cares Program)
  • Salvation Army bell ringers
  • Rebuilding together
  • Watch for information in church bulletins and the Messenger

Dutchess Outreach

We serve lunch and dinner once a month. Contact: Allan Scott 845-452-3365.

 
 

Homeless Shelter (DCCH)

Provide food and volunteer to serve at the shelter once a month -- the third thursday of each month.

Mark-it Place

Mark-it Place is a thrift shop operated by and for the Hyde Park United Methodist Church. Volunteers are needed to work at the store on Albany Post Road. [Location]

Volunteers in Mission (VIM)

Members of our church have recently served in Biloxi, Iowa, Haiti and Bolivia. See the New York Annual Conference web site for more information about upcoming opportunities.

Camp Hope

This opportunity is for high schoolers who travel to Frostburg, MD the first week of July every year. Adults are also needed to help chaperone and assist in the fundraising efforts.

Food Pantry

The Hyde Park Food Pantry needs non-perishable and canned goods. Contributions can be left at any time in the box in the Fellowship Hall.

Bottle Returns

We accept bottles and cans with refundable deposits. The money is used to benefit our work in Haiti. Clean cans and bottles (no caps please) may be left in bags by the basement door in the fellowship hall.
