There are some rules to follow if you attend one of Blessed Connections birthday parties.
One of the Blessed Connections happiest activities is taking birthday parties to the homes of shut-ins. We arrive fully supplied with all the above-mentioned items, after having secured a good day and time for the festivities to be held. The parties are usually in the afternoon, and seldom longer than an hour or two. We provide the birthday treat and beverages, plates and cups, and a camera to record the event.
If you would like to be part of the “party animals”, just let Pastor Arlene or Eilene Peeling know, and you will surely be included on the “Birthday Party Alert!” list. Participation at parties is strictly on a come-if-you-can basis.
As we leave a party, you can never be sure who had the most fun—the honoree or the visitors. All you can be sure of is that God was there, too— enjoying!
When the Birthday-In-A-Basket team was packing up after Walter Storm’s birthday party in July, Bernice and Walter presented them with a beautifully wrapped gift. On the top was this poem, which Bernice wrote:
A little token of appreciation
For all the treats that came our way,
So let us give a little back
For someone else to enjoy their birthday.
Inside our package were birthday paper plates and matching napkins. What a nice surprise that was.
